Twitter, a social media network that is perfect for growing your website or business. It’s also perfect for just keeping in touch with friends, even though sometimes your friends share things that really are not necessary to be shared. But, on Twitter, when you want to share a link, sometimes the 140 character limit can hold you back.
Links can get pretty long, maybe there are even some links that cannot even fit the 140 character limit. There is an easy solution for long links though, and that is creating short links. There are many companies that offer short link creation, and I am going to talk about a few so you can shorten up those links to give you more space to write on Twitter.
Bitly.com is very simple and easy to use, just like the others I am going to show you. Once you sign up, you can create short links in seconds. All you have to do is paste in the link and it will shorten it for you. It also gives you stats on how many people click that link, so that is why I think bitly.com is the best choice. Just in case you are wondering, here is an example of the link.

Google’s “goo.gl” allows you to shorten links, and also will show you stats on how many clicks it has gotten, but it does not give you as many options and features and bitly.com. Either way, goo.gl is still a great choice in shortening your links. Here is an example of how goo.gl shortens your links.

ow.ly is yet another good url shorten service, and with this one, you do not even have to sign up, but because you do not have to sign up, you do not get statistics on how many times your link is being clicked. That may not matter to you, but to some others, it does, and they would like the stats. Here is an example on how ow.ly shortens your links.

Want to make your own personalized short link?
If you want to make your own custom short link, than you should head over to Mashable.com, and there is a great article on how to do so. The link to the article is right here -> http://on.mash.to/109rtzW
Once you get your links short, then you just copy and paste them into your Twitter post, and it is as simple as that! Now your link does not have to take up half of your Tweet, and you can have more space to write what you want to write about.
