YouTube creators, Steve Chen and Chad Hurley, have just recently released a new app called MixBit. Similar to Vine and Instagram, you can upload short video clips. But with MixBit, there is a little tweak to it.
MixBit allows you to film 16 seconds of video, compared to Instagram ( 15 secs ) and Vine ( 6 secs ). Now you can fit in more of a moment, or creation.
The twist about MixBit, is that you can also mix and edit other users videos with your own. This creates many creative possibilities. A finished video can have up to 256 clips in total for about an hour in total length.
I think that is pretty great! You can create a movie with different, creative clips created by other people around the world.
“We started YouTube to make it easy for everyone to share videos. Now we want to help people make great videos.”
Another Plus is that you can edit your videos at any time, other than Vine and Instagram. That had aggravated me many times when I could not edit a photo or video, and I had to delete it completely.
Currently, the MixBit app is only available for iOS devices ( iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch ), but will soon be available for Android devices as well. Even though MixBit is a little behind in the video app business, I still think it will do well. I personally see MixBit as being better than Vine, and Instagram.
